Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 July 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Lexi (lexi.cx), operated by Ortomate Ltd., 12 Jessie Street, Wellington, New Zealand. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. The service
Lexi provides an embeddable AI chat widget that answers your customers' questions from documents you supply. AI-generated answers can be wrong or incomplete; you are responsible for the content you index and for reviewing how the widget represents your product. Lexi is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to documents you upload. You grant us a licence to store, process, and transmit that content solely to operate the service (including sending excerpts to our AI providers to generate answers). You must have the rights to any content you upload, and you must not upload unlawful content or others' personal information without authority.
4. Acceptable use
- No abuse, probing, or circumvention of usage limits or security measures.
- No use of the widget to deceive end users (e.g. presenting Lexi as a human).
- No unlawful, infringing, or harmful content or use.
5. Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in USD via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Plan limits (sites, documents, conversations) are enforced in the product. You can cancel any time via the billing portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
6. Availability and support
The service is provided “as is” without uptime guarantees on these plans. We provide support by email at hello@lexi.cx.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practicable.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction.
